With the environment becoming more and more important, GTA Belgium is always looking to produce in a sustainable and eco-friendly way. One of the things we do to achieve this, is by using TENCEL™ fibres. Made entirely from wood cellulose, they are a more eco-conscious alternative to other textile fibres such as virgin polyester or regular cotton.

What is REFIBRA™? REFIBRA™ is Lenzing’s proprietary sustainable fiber technology that blends recycled cotton scraps—both pre‑ and post‑consumer—with wood pulp from sustainably managed forests. The blended pulp is then processed into new TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers using a closed-loop production system. This innovation creates cabin-grade, biodegradable cellulosic fiber with high-performance characteristics and full supply-chain traceability .

Circularity in Action Waste becomes resource: Cotton scraps that would otherwise be incinerated or landfilled are diverted into fiber production, embracing a true circular economy model . Low-impact closed-loop process: REFIBRA™ production reclaims over 99% of solvents, uses significantly less water than conventional cotton, and is entirely bio-based and compostable .

TENCEL™ Modal fibres are a step-up from normal TENCEL™ fibres. They are softer, lighter and thinner than their brother. Made from beech trees instead of eucalyptus, they are very strong and durable, making them perfect for high-traffic fabrics such as mattresses. Twice as soft, more breathable than regular cotton and with excellent colour fastness, this versatile fibre will lead the market in no time.
