Production
Producing all fabrics in-house
Producing locally has gained more momentum than ever these last years. As part of an eco-friendlier world, local production helps us all to diminish our carbon footprint.
Local production is exactly what we aimed for with GTA India. Our fabrics are made from scratch in our vertically integrated facility, often even starting with the fibre. Producing our bed, upholstery and curtain fabrics happens in these departments:
- Yarn extrusion
- Warping
- Weaving/knitting
- Finishing
- Quality control
Yarn extrusion
In our own yarn extrusion department, we create high-quality polypropylene yarns. These strong yarns were created by our Belgian and American sister companies, using a unique technology that makes the yarns soft, eco-friendly, and cleanable.
These yarns are mainly used for upholstery and upholstery-style fabrics. They are an important part of our plans for a sustainable future and are continually improved by our engineers worldwide.
Warping
Warps for our weaving mill are all created internally. Skilled employees run our warping department on a full-time basis, ensuring a perfect base for the next step in our production process: weaving.
Weaving/knitting
What started as an idea, soon became a sketch, and turned into a detailed computer design. Via our fully automated digital system, these computer files are turned into ravishingly accurate real-life fabrics.
The looms in our weaving and knitting mills are operated by trained workers who know every little detail of textile manufacturing to the core. That shows in our fabrics.
Finishing
With dozens of different finishings to choose from, we add value to every single one of our fabrics. Fire-retardancy, anti-slip and cool-touch treatments are just a small selection of the upgrades we can give your fabrics.
Quality control
We make sure that every fabric is of outstanding quality before it leaves our premises. Supervising our fabrics’ quality happens at every stage of our production line, to maintain the high standards we put forward.
At the end of the line, we check our fabrics one last time. In our quality control department, our colleagues are known for their hawk eyes: they even spot the smallest mistake in our tissues. Only the fabrics meeting our standards will be brought to you.
